Restoring Sexual Intimacy After Betrayal
Workshop presented at the Sexual Integrity Leadership Conference in Portland, Oregon
Recovering sexual intimacy after betrayal can seem unimaginable. However, healing is possible, but it requires understanding the nuances of trauma and sexual dysfunctions to avoid further damage. This seminar provides a path for holistic healing through the SIIMDA Soul Care model that integrates trauma frameworks, interpersonal neurobiology, sex therapy protocols, and body processes. Participants will engage in experiential processes and learn practical interventions to help couples restore intimacy and achieve deeper sexual connection after betrayal.
Learning objectives:
1. Participants will be able to identify the specific nuances of sexual betrayal, its traumatic impacts, and the resulting sexual dysfunctions, ensuring a trauma-informed approach that avoids re-traumatization of clients.
2. Participants will learn to incorporate interpersonal neurobiology, sex therapy protocols, body-based processes, and spiritual supports through SIIMDA Soul Care principles to create a comprehensive and holistic approach.
3. Participants will develop the skills to guide couples through practical, experiential, and faith-integrated interventions, promoting healing and fostering greater intimacy within the therapeutic framework.
